Privacy Policy

A plain-English summary of what French Lab stores and why.

What we collect

Your name, email address and the learning preferences you choose during onboarding. As you practise we also store your progress, exercise answers, writing submissions, conversation transcripts and coach feedback.

Why we collect it

To create your account, personalise your lessons to your level and goal, generate corrections, and show your progress across devices.

Voice and recordings

Speaking practice sends short audio clips for transcription and returns synthesised coach speech. Audio is used to produce your feedback and transcript, not to build advertising profiles.

Who can see your data

Only you. Learning records are protected by row-level security rules so one account can never read another account's data. Trusted processors handle authentication, speech and AI feedback on our behalf.

Keeping it safe

Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never stored in the application database. Access to administrative fields such as roles and subscription status is restricted to secure server-side processes.

Your choices

You can update your profile and preferences at any time, export or clear locally cached practice data, and request account deletion from Profile settings. Deletion removes your learning records.

Cookies and local storage

We use local storage to keep you signed in and to cache unsaved work so a dropped connection doesn't lose your writing. We don't use advertising trackers.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
